'23 Guns' is a response to the mass shooting in Las Vegas on the night of 1st October 2017. Stephen Paddock, described at the time by someone who knew him as "just a guy", killed 58 innocent people when he opened fire on a crowd of concert goers at the Route 91 Harvest music festival. How can someone be allowed to own 23 guns and carry them unnoticed into a hotel room overlooking a festival for the sole purpose of using those guns to kill as many people as possible? Another 19 guns were later found at Paddock's home. All were legally purchased by the man. What has changed in the US since that night to prevent such devestation being repeated? Sadly, very little it seems. Why not? Whose interests are being protected here? The notion touted by the NRA that "only a good guy with a gun can stop a bad guy with a gun" is questionable. In this instance, Paddock only stopped killing innocent victims when he turned one of his 23 guns on himself.
